Importance of ISO Standards For Chemical Industry

  Notwithstanding the fact that chemical industry is   multi-faceted and omni-present industry forming part of every second of our modern day life, the general perception towards it is pretty low which is that it is most hated across the world in spite of being very essential for mankind's well-being. This is not without reason. The industry has been associated with disastrous accidents starting with BASF ammonium nitrate plant accident in 1924 through the 1984 Union Carbide plant debacle in Bhopal. Similarly, harmful effects of chemicals due to over exposure, wrong use and ignorance on long-term effects of chemicals etc have added to the negative public perception. Nevertheless, the industry seems finally getting together to tackle this problem in a constructive manner in a bid to become a more responsible corporate citizen.
